Very hard to find good and authentic Shiatsu around the Bay, this is a go to. Warning!!! It is super painful, but I have a good night sleep after every session and I feel much better like the tireness and sore is gone.

Great message and very knowledgeable gentleman! And he is HONEST about the treatment. I tried to book 90 minute session and he told me that you would be fine with just 60 minutes, no needed for 90 minutes. He is not trying to sell anything to me but just being honest how often I should visit him. "You do not need to come that often. Maybe once a month or or twice a month should be enough." I highly recommend him to anyone. It is a deep tissue message, so don't expect it will be "relaxing" because you will have some "good pain" for sure. He will help with your problem though!

Absolutely turned around my nerve pain and frozen shoulder issues. He is very honest about how the treatment will go, and how much he can do. Extremely knowledgable about muscle groups and Chi/Meridian lines. If you have any strange issues that doctors cannot fix I highly recommend Aki. I can say he has helped me the most out of all alternative medicines.

Not for the faint at heart or those with low pain tolerance. He explains before the session that shiatsu is painful as it targets pressure points, and he wasn't kidding. It was the longest one hour of my life, but maaannn, so worth it in the end. He opened channels in my arms and blood flow to my brain that I didn't realize had been locked. Amazing! Painful. But amazing.

Best massage or/and body treatment I ever had, and I had a lot. It was not a walk in the park, but I wasn’t there for relaxation, I wanted to get rid of an old chronic problematic. No body ever had an understanding of it as accurate as he did and I never had as much results after only one session. I wish I could had more (and more), but I was just around for few days. This guy is a master and a top reference for all musculoskeletal issues. Not cheap (at least for me), worth the money.

Aki is very nice and is a pleasure to chat with.
When coming in for a treatment, keep in mind that he provides DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE. Expect pain during your session. However, don't be afraid to let him know if the pain is too much. But it's definitely worth it because once the session is over, the pain is instantly gone.
Price per session is $100 but as a first time customer, you get 50% off. He has different pre-paid package plans available that offer good discount prices as well.
I can't wait to go back for my next session. Thanks, Aki-san! - Don E. D.·
I have been struggling for years to bring my body back. I have a number of issues, from cracked vertebrae, arthritic neck and a bulging disc. I have also lost a lot of strength in my legs and core.
From the very beginning of my visits with Aki. I could tell an immediate improvement in my range of body motion and strength to my legs. Also much of my pain subsided and I sleep better at night and my walking improved as well as overall core strength.
Aki takes the time to read your bodies energy and works with the meridians in the body to restore blood flow and oxygen that may have been blocked before due to inactivity or injury.
Aki will have me as a patient always and I am very grateful to his masterful work. It has made a huge difference for me and my quality of life. - Melanie H.·
I first visited Aki when I was 8 months pregnant and have been going there ever since. Aki is very experienced. He can tell what problems you have by gently touching your body, and he'll try to work on them at each session. My back was tight from carrying the baby, so Aki used his fingers and a stick to press along my spine. It was quite painful but I liked how it felt after. I also like the fact that Aki works 7 days a week. Unlike other places, I've never had problems booking a session with my chosen therapist, be it Aki or his assistant Rae who's also great. Would recommend Aki to anyone who wants a massage that have longer-lasting effects rather than instant relaxation.

Aki is the business owner, and he is the only one who works at the practice. Aki is extremely nice and knowledge about the art of Shiatsu. I bought a deal on Groupon for $39 for an hour massage , and it was amazing. Please research what Shiatsu is before coming into this practice for a massage. I would compare this massage to a deep tissue massage. If you can not handle deep tissue massage, then this type of massage is not for you. The pressure for me was perfect. Aki asked me if I was ok, and if the pressure was too much. If the pressure is too much for one to handle then asked for less pressure. I would definitely come back to Aki, because I need deep massage not a relaxing massage. So if you need deep pressure this is the man to see.

I had treatment by both Aki and his assistant. It was great! Before the treatment, Aki warned me that this would be painful, so I was expecting the worst. It wasn't so bad. The pressure is comparable to deep tissue massages by any other professional male masseuse. That is, until he busts out the stick. Stick in the deltoid. Stick in the trapezius. Stick in the gluteus. Stick in the muscles along my spine. That hurt. But that's what I needed to get to the deep muscle trigger points, and it worked. I only had 3 sessions one weekly and I really started to feel better in my back and shoulders. Throughout the sessions, he did check with me to make sure that the pressure was not too much.
I had never had Shiatsu before, so I did not know exactly what to expect. You disrobe partially, but the massage is done through a sheet, so there is no massage oil. I like this way better, so I do not feel the need to shower right afterward. There is no fluff here. No aromatherapy, no new age music. This place is focused on the business of getting you better. The other reviewers are right -- If you're looking for a touchy feely feel good massage, this is not the place for you. This place is to work out those tight trigger point muscle bands that have been nagging you for years.
After the 3rd session, Aki said that I had improved enough that I did not need any more sessions and that was it for now. I respect his ethical business approach to not say that I needed to keep coming over and over to get better. On top of this is that his prices were very reasonable, especially if you buy a pack of sessions. I'll keep coming back for the periodic touch up that I know I'll need.
